Danny was the little brother of Maxine Martin who she attempted to bring back in a Second Rising.

After she fatally wounds Amy, Maxine waited at Danny's grave, however much to her despair he did not rise.
Maxine then goes to the Fete where she breaks down, telling the village that she did indeed wish to bring about a Second Rising in an attempt to bring back Danny. She also explains how he fell someplace, leading to his death.
